The school was founded in 1989 and a Department of Diploma Medical Management was constructed in 1995. In 1998 the school was evaluated by the Ministry of Education as 1st grade, and the top among the national medical management department; in 1999: the school decided to change to the specialization department of the School of Technology, and a 2-year class for the Department of Medical Sciences is added; In the year of 2000 the school added each a class for the 4-year class in the Department of Medical System and Management also a 2-year class for Department of Training, the Department of 2-year Medical System has ended as well; in 2002 the school has stopped recruiting for the Department of 2-year medical management system; In 2004 the school has stopped recruiting for 2-year secondary medical management department too; between 2003 and 2007 the class for Department of 4-year Medical Management has been successfully recruiting students ; In 2008 the recruitment of the Department of 4-year Medical Management has divided into two classes; In 2017 it is renamed as the Department of Medical and Health Management. This department mainly cultivates medical and health industry professionals and the curriculum is designed based on operating management, the professional development has been divided into two major fields which are "institutional management" and "smart health technology". We cultivate students with the ability of business and management, with the practical skills of management and health technology, focusing on the development of medical institutions in the eastern Taiwan area and long-term care management, extending to fields like prevention medicine, health promotion, health care, wisdom life, etc. in line with the future demand of the Taiwan society.
Our department cooperates with the school's concept and educational objectives to cultivate students with the characteristics of protecting life, subject to human qualities and professional skills yet strongly emphasizes the equal emphasis of theory and skills. We are able to cultivate students with "human literacy and appreciation", "basic information, English, medical management related license", "health industry management, health care policy, medical record, and medical information management expertise", "ability to write a practical project and analysis", “Employment of practical application of medical care" and management experts with “International View and cross-field Expert ".
In 2019 our department has a total of 219 students (38 people from the freshmen class, 51 people from the sophomore class, 59 people from the junior class, and 71 from the senior class). Our department has 6 professional lecturers including 1 associate professor and 5 assistant professors yet our department’s lecturers are all and above the level of assistant professors. To cooperate with the school’s middle-long development plan and the implementation of technical education objectives, our department always encourages lecturers to obtain specialist licenses and take part in practical studies, involve in citizen camp plans, and integrate the practice-teaching plan. This will not just improve the lecturer’s practical skills but also enhance the lectures to rise with academic research, professional skills, or teaching plan.

Our students achieved flying color results in several national academic competitions.
The passing rate for 2nd-grade computer skills tests and 3rd-grade web skills are extremely high; in addition, the passing rate for the National English Verification test is currently increasing year by year. Information and English ability and has been included in the graduation threshold. On the other hand, the basic ability of the national language, Boya lectures, swimming ability, and labor education are listed as graduation thresholds too. This will effectively manage the quality of the graduates.
The employment rate of previous graduates (within half a year) is approximately 90% and above, and the relevant workplace ratio is approximately 70% and above.
