The Department's curriculum was based on “The Committee of Medical Management Department” with the cooperation of “The Department Curriculum Committee” and “School Curriculum Committee”, in order to strengthen the balance between the quality and the quantity of talent cultivation and the talent needed by the industry. Also establish the industry positioning of the department through the development mechanism of department-based courses, develop characteristic courses, strengthen students’ employment knowledge, and increase the employment rate of the department. In order to implement the educational goal or “pragmatic and practical”, courses are planned to improve the students. During or after the courses, the performance of the student or the employment status after graduation, the students, graduates, lecturers, employers, industry experts, etc. shall feedback to the “Department Curriculum Committee” as a basis for reviewing curriculum planning or operational measures and forming a complete and continuous improvement cycle mechanism to ensure that the department’s courses retain good quality.

Our department’s curriculum was designed to take both professional development and humanistic care at the same time and was based on a curriculum development standard process, SWOT analysis, three representative titles of graduates and evaluation by the Ministry of Education. Our department’s curriculum planning axis,curriculum module and map are shown as below. All courses are linked with the core competencies of students determined by the department’s curriculum development. At the same time, the corresponding standard courses are designed according to the representative job titles that graduates can engage in, including basic compulsory courses and professional compulsory courses, so as to cultivate students' professional knowledge and also practice to achieve the goal of improving students' employability.

In order to enhance the student’s skills to meet the needs of the future workplaces, our school strengthens students’ skills in different majors such as inviting industry lecturers to teach in school so that the students can gain some practical experience; we also provide tutors for specialist license tests and encourage students to achieve the certificate to enrich their journey. Our department tutors for various kinds of license tests. Before graduation, we offer tutor classes for specialist license tests, specialized course lectures, and career planning lectures to strengthen students’ motivation. We also revise the focus and analyze the trend to enhance the student’s competitiveness in the workplace and the rate of employment of graduates.
Our department has been developing the characteristics in Eastern Taiwan which is Long-Term Care Management and now has extended to Tourism Medical, Prevention Medical and Health Promotion, Smart Life, and other fields that meet Taiwan's future needs. We applied to the Ministry of Education to change our department’s name to “Medical and Health Management” and it was approved in 2017. Our main focus is to cultivate “ cross-field Medical and Health Management talents with both humanistic literacy and professional knowledge” yet the main
development will be adjusted to “Medical Administration”, Health Industry Management” and “Elderly Care Management”.
