Apply or renew for ARC
Required documents
1. A completed application form、One 2 x 2 colored photo
2. Original and a photocopy of passport
3. Original and a photocopy of resident visa
4. Original and a photocopy of letter of admission or Distribution Notice from the University Entrance Committee
5. Certificate of enrolment (Apply from the Office of Academic Affairs)
6. The fee: NT$1,000 for 1-year validity
- NT$500 for 1-year validity (Overseas Chinese student, Remarks of VISA be FC)
- Processing time: 10 working days (exclude the date of receipt, holiday, replenishment, mailing time and record turnaround time)

Extend for the valid period of ARC (within 30 days before whom period of residency expires,apply in person)

- Original ARC
- Certificate of enrolment (Apply from the Office of Academic Affairs) or student ID card (With registration sticker)
- Air ticket of exiting Taiwan or cap screen (With the applicants' name)
- The fee: NT$1000 for 1-year validity
- NT$500 for 1-year validity (Overseas Chinese student, Remarks of VISA be FC)
- Processing time: 10 working days (exclude the date of receipt, holiday, replenishment, mailing time and record turnaround time)

Replacement for ARC
Required documents
- A completed application form、One 2 x 2 colored photo
- Original and a photocopy of passport
- Certificate of enrolment (Apply from the Office of Academic Affairs) or student ID card (Needs registration sticker)
- Statement of lost ARC or Vehicle lost certificate issued by the police office
- The fee: NT$500
- Processing time: 10 working days (exclude the date of receipt, holiday, replenishment, mailing time and record turnaround time)
- Notice: If the expiration date of the ARC is on Saturday, Sunday, national holiday or other rest days, the deadline for processing the extension is as follows:
- Saturday: Before 12pm on Monday
- Sunday: Working hour on Monday
- National holiday or other rest days: Working hour on the following working day
Change of Information
International students should go to the service stop of the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency to change the information when their address or school has been changed. Those who fail to finish the changes will be charge no more than NT$10,000.
A.Change of address
Required documents:
- Multi-Purpose Application Form for Foreigners
- Rental contract or proof of accommodation
- Original and a photocopy of ARC
- Original or a photocopy of passport
- Student ID (registered for the academic year) or certificate of enrolment (apply to the Office of Registration)
B.Change of school (When it is confirmed)
Required documents:
- Multi-Purpose Application Form for Foreigners
- Rental contract or proof of accommodation
- Original and a photocopy of ARC
- Original and a photocopy of passport
- Student ID (registered for the academic year)
- Certificate of enrolment from the new school
- Transcripts from the original school
Processing fee: No charges are levied for changes to residential and schooling details; other services are charged a fee of NT$500.
Fines: Students who fail to change their address or schooling information in time shall incur a fine. The fine are as follow:
- First-time violators are subject to a fine of NT$2,000.
- Second-time violators are subject to a fine of NT$5,000.
- Third-time violators are subject to a fine of NT$10,000.
- Students under 14 are exempt from fines; students aged 14–18 are subject to a reduced fine of half the original amount.
Graduation, suspension, withdrawal, change or loss of student status
- After graduation, international students who return to their own hometown and will not stay in Taiwan for work do not need to go to the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency for the procedures.
- Departure within 10 days of the deadline (Except graduation): Except for other persons who can stay or reside in Taiwan with the permission from the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency, International students who are going to leave Taiwan should go to the the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency with all the required documents within 10 days after the suspension, withdrawal, loss of students’ status, and they should leave within 10 days after the application.

Notice
1.Principles concerning ARC application by international students:
(a) Admission into the University does not guarantee the issuance of a resident visa or entry into Taiwan.
(b) Other visa holders are prohibited from applying for visitor/resident visas for education purposes once they have entered Taiwan.
(c) Applicants for visitor/resident visas for education purposes are prohibited from applying for visitor/resident visas for other purposes once they have entered Taiwan.
(d) International students are prohibited from working in Taiwan unless otherwise authorized by competent authorities.
2.Overstay:
(a) In the occurrence that the 29th day of overstay is on a Sunday, public holiday, or a rest day, applicants are responsible for a fine of 29 days and must reapply for the ARC on the following working day.
(b) In the occurrence that the 29th day of overstay is on a Saturday, applicants must reapply for the ARC in the morning on the following working day.
(c) ARC holders who overstay for 30 days are required to leave Taiwan within 7 days and reapply for a resident visa as well as pay for the fine.
3. Fines for overstaying
(a) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 1–10 days are subject to a fine of NT$2,000.
(b) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 11–30 days are subject to a fine of NT$4,000.
(c) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 31–60 days are subject to a fine of NT$6,000.
(d) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for 61–90 days are subject to a fine of NT$8,000.
(e) Foreigners who have overstayed their stay for >90 days are subject to a fine of NT$10,000.
(f) Students under 14 are exempt from fines; students aged 14–18 are subject to a reduced fine of half the original amount.
