Welcome to Taiwan
Congratulations, and welcome to Tzu Chi University! I am pleased that you have chosen to pursue your college studies in Taiwan, and I believe you will soon discover this is one of the smartest choices you have made in your life.
Tzu Chi University has just celebrated its 22nd anniversary. Though a comparatively young academic institution, we have steadily developed a decent and humanistic academic tradition. Our history may be relatively short; nevertheless, we have already made remarkable achievements that mean we can stand tall, shoulder to shoulder with Taiwan’s most esteemed higher education institutions.
We have received approval and accreditation from various national higher education evaluation programs and specialist associations. Tzu Chi University’s students have the highest rate of professional certification in Taiwan. Our Medical Simulation Center is regarded by The Wall Street Journal as the best model for the medical profession and humanistic education. We provide professional development programs, like those of our Multimedia Production Center and Teacher Preparation Center, which equip students with necessary professional skills, gaining our graduates the highest employment rate among all private universities in Taiwan.
In the context of the journey of your life as a whole, your time at university may seem like a small step; but it is a giant step in the cultivation of your wisdom and knowledge, the development of a sound personality, and the fostering of a decent way of life. We know how every student treasures their time at college, so we have prepared a solid curriculum for you to pursue balanced development not only in your character and intelligence, but also in your aesthetic, and kinesthetic aspects. Along with all of this, the university also offers a wide range of extracurricular programs to enrich your life on your journey to success.
Tzu Chi University provides accommodation for all students, so you can study and live on campus in a safe and family-like environment which relieves you of unnecessary hustle and bustle. To strengthen a sense of identity within the big university family, our students are also encouraged to wear uniforms. We hope this sense of identity will be your pride, just like it is for every one of us.
Once again, welcome to Tzu Chi University! I will look forward to seeing you soon.

TCU International Student Union (ISU)
International Student Union (ISU) is a self-governing student organization that attends to the welfare of all international students. It embraces cultural differences, promotes individuality and facilitates student bonding. To do so, the student union hosts a variety of activities throughout the year open to international students. Those activities provide ISU members the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, to work with each other toward a common goal, and to introduce their respective cultures to local students, faculty and staff members. The ISU also works closely with the OIA to assist new international students with their accommodations, as well as other issues that may arise during their studies
