The administration offices are located at the Harmony Building. Tzu Chi University is a comprehensive living organism which, much like plants and humans, has its inner structures which are concealed from everyday view. The President’s Office, the University Secretary’s office, and the human resources, accounting and other centers are the framework of the school’s administration; they are the brains, skeleton, organs, vessels and nerves of the university, promoting school affairs and maintaining security. The Office of Research and Development promotes academic research and presents research results.
Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Giving
The University’s motto is “Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Giving”, the aim is to nurture talent who embrace altruistic ideals and engage in volunteering services with the spirit of these four characteristics; and the philosophy is the daily pursuit of excellence to attain the goal of holistic education, based on virtue and knowledge, with the practice of culture and service. With these as building blocks, our educational goal is then to develop professionals armed with critical analysis skills, who excel in teamwork and embrace the altruistic essence of Tzu Chi. We wish to build a model university that combines Tzu Chi culture and academic professionalism, and which educates professionals who possess gratitude, respect and love.
The University Archives documents the history of the University, particularly the Office of the President and the TCU campus, through the collecting of University publications and of records of enduring historical interest.
